75 million children who should be in primary school are not, and nearly 41 million of those children are girls.

75 million children who should be in primary school are not, and nearly 41 million of those children are girls. An educated girl is less likely to become infected with HIV, more likely to escape child marriage and more likely to have healthier children. That's why CARE is striving to empower 10 million girls around the world to access quality primary education by 2015. An education has the power to save a girl's life. Alicia studies diligently in a school supported by CARE in Ecuador. Children like Alicia are often victims of exploitative child labor and child trafficking schemes, forced to leave their families behind, many working under deplorable conditions for years on end with little or no compensation. CARE can help send a girl to school for a year, for only $49! Please donate to support CARE's education and poverty-fighting programs around the world.
